2nd Annual Philanthropy LIVE! transforms Pittsburgh

There are still 4-months until Philanthropy LIVE! but I am excited about the opportunities the North American YMCA Development Officers (NAYDO) conference attendees will have to help transform Pittsburgh. This year, an estimated 1,000 philanthropy officers will attend NAYDO on April 25 -28th, and they will all be given a chance to change Pittsburgh. On April 25th, Philanthropy LIVE! offers attendees the opportunity to volunteer for a half or full-day with two service organizations committed to improving the Pittsburgh community. Think of the difference these volunteers will make. Working alongside their peers, participants will carry on the YMCA mission in Pittsburgh.

Redwoods is the proud sponsor of this year’s Philanthropy LIVE! which echoes the conference theme: “Sustaining a Healthy Future.” By giving back to the host city, participants have the chance to leave their indelible mark on the Pittsburgh community. Conference participants can choose from one of the following service projects:

  • Hazelwood YMCA provides a safe haven and support for children facing adversity. It’s also a community development center and operates a food pantry, a soup kitchen, day camp and an after-school program. Help renovate and transform the Hazelwood YMCA.
  • Global Links is a medical relief and development organization dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and improving health in resource-poor communities. Sort and pack medical supplies for donation to resource-poor communities locally and globally.

Conference attendees who participate will receive the following benefits:

  • Philanthropy LIVE! t-shirt
  • Transportation to and from the serve sites
  • Lunch
  • VIP ticket and seating at the evening reception hosted by Kevin Trapani, President &CEO of The Redwoods Group and features  an interview with growth philanthropist Dr. Diana Wells, President of Ashoka
  • VIP After Party Ticket

Registration is now open for NAYDO 2012. Once you register, you will be given the opportunity to sign-up for one of the Philanthropy LIVE! service projects. We hope that you will attend NAYDO 2012 and come a day early to help make a positive impact in Pittsburgh.
